Known as the EXIF Timestamps – Timestamp change
I have found that while shooting with two camera’s that it is really important to set the time on both before starting a shoot.
I found out the hard way, well is there any other way… Having shot a wedding and imported the three memory cards of photo’s into Lightroom. I found they were all in a strange order, which I wondered if it would matter, until I thought what would happen when I exported them again, and how I would probably have to rename all the files.
In my case, the camera was out by an hour, due to daylight saving.
After some research, I found you can shift the Time stamp by any number of hours, for a large selection of pictures. So I changed the sort settings to Added Order in Lightroom and scrolled down to the start of the incorrect pictures. I selected them all and went into the Metadata Menu, after selecting edit capture time, I selected Shift by set number of hours (time zone adjust)
This moved all my pictures into the right order when they were mixed with the other camera’s import and I have them all together in Capture Time order
Something that can be avoided, but is fixable
Would you believe the only picture I took that had a clock in it, was on the camera that had the correct time already set – go figure….
